Alpaca Fellowship

Comment on this

The alpaca herd was a bit fearful of visitors on the farm so good photo opportunities were rare.  I love the way the sun has backlit our main character then bounces off the backs of his friends in the foreground.  I chose to emphasize the lighting of our featured alpaca and texture of the foreground alpacas in my artistic rendition.   Thank you Liz and Jon for sharing this photo with me!

Alpacas are charming and have become popular lately.  They have quirky good looks, and bear some of the silkiest, most versatile fiber found in nature. The alpaca's coat has been described as stronger than mohair, finer than cashmere, smoother than silk, softer than cotton, warmer than goose down and better-breathing than thermal knits.
