Geneva Island Park Railroad Bridge

Massive concrete piers support the old train trestles adding unique character to the beauty of Island Park in Geneva. Morning light beams on the piers, inviting us around stepping onto the wooden plank walking bridge below the tracks. Sounds and sights of the roaring train above contrasted by the calming flow of the Fox River are worth experiencing over and over again.

Premixing my color palette has helped me maintain color harmony in my paintings. I'm really enjoying this process! I began this technique on my Weeping Willow painting. This photo is of my premixed palette and tinted canvas preparing to begin.

Blocking in the local color, bouncing around the canvas with my color palette mixing a thin consistency for the underpainting.

A continuation of progress. The last phase will be adding depth with more vibrant hues in the foreground and emphasizing brushstrokes as can be viewed in the final. My style is developing with each new work. I feel it's becoming combination of realism and impressionism.
